Dick E. Bentley, 63, of Lebanon Road, passed away at his home February 11, 2021 after a brief illness.
He was born in Manchester, CT May 15, 1957, the son of Rodney and Mary (Hitt) Bentley. Dick graduated with honors from Noble High School in 1975. He was a Master Electrician, and co-owned Ohm’s & Watson Electric. He had worked for Pratt & Whitney Aircraft, Hussey Manufacturing, Tyco Industries and Lucas Tree Company.
Dick became a Certified Tree Arborist and opened his own company, Abbott Hill Tree Services in 2002. Along with his close friend and General Manager, David Shibles, they developed a well-known tree Service with a successful team, who will continue to serve the local communities.
Dick was a multi-talented businessman with a charismatic personality and generous spirit,who was always willing to lend a helping hand. He was mechanically inclined and loved working on old tractors and antique cars. He enjoyed the gatherings at his home with his many friends and adored seeing his grandchildren. Dick also loved all animals and was quite the history buff.
He was predeceased by his parents, sister, Sandra (Bentley) Weymouth and son, Seth Bentley. Surviving are his wife, Marisa (Oriti) Bentley of Wells; longtime partner, Joanne Guillemette of Sanford, daughter Brooke Bentley of Sanford; 3 brothers, David Bentley and wife Sandra of North Berwick, Dan Bentley and wife Melodie of Rochester, NH, and Don Bentley and partner Gil Larsen of Lakeland, FL; sister Sybil Bentley of Springvale; brother-in-law Leslie Weymouth of North Berwick; 7 grandchildren, Olivia Bentley, Tristan and Isabelle Pierce, Jonathan Tebbetts, Lorrenzo Moran, Adrianna Gauthier and Ryver Morin; many nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Saide and cat Jasper. He will be deeply missed by his numerous friends and family.
Graveside services will be held May 15, 2021 at 10 am in Hillside Cemetery in North Berwick. Friends who wish may contribute to Another Chance Animal Rescue, P.O. Box 552, North Berwick, ME 03906.
