David "Butch" Stewart

April 26, 1947 - November 7, 2023

David “Butch” Stewart, age 76, died November 7, 2023 in Sanford, Maine due to a massive heart attack.

He is survived by his wife Sharon Stewart, his sons David and his wife Nancy, Paul, Troy, Jon and his wife Karen, Matt and his wife Kristyn, and his former wife Judy Stewart Perry, his sister Margaret and her husband Andy Kilgore, his brothers Jimmy, Rick his wife Babette, and Danny Stewart. His grandchildren: Joshua, Michael, Sarah, Tonya, Tori, Megan, Kaine, Kerrigan, Parker, Elizabeth and great granddaughter Kaelyn.

 He also has a whole bunch of nephews and nieces that love their Uncle Butch. He is predeceased by his parents David and Margery Stewart of North Berwick and his brother Robert “Bobby” Stewart.

Butch was well known for his exuberant love of Jesus. He had no fear in sharing his faith with anyone that was willing to listen. Maybe even a few that didn’t want to listen but respected him enough to sit quietly while he shared the gospel of Jesus with them. He didn’t claim to be a perfect man but he had a loving heart that led him to serve many as the ability allowed him. He had an infectious laugh that just made you laugh along with him. He will be greatly missed but may we rest in the knowledge that he is with his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.

A Celebration of life will be Tuesday, November 14, 2023 from 2pm-5pm at Mercy Chapel, 1861 Main St., Sanford, Maine.  Come and share your favorite memory of David "Butch",  or just to support those of us in the family that you know.   We will be enjoying a potluck style meal, kindly bring a dish to share.
