David A. Twomey

David A Twomey, 63, of North Berwick, Maine (otherwise known as “Donkey” to his family), passed away April 6th, 2025 at Boston General Hospital. 

David loved sharing stories of his fond memories of growing up at Pine Point in Scarborough Maine, especially the ones of when he was working as a deck hand on various lobster boats, fishing in his punt boat and simply enjoying the beach life with his friends. 

As a teenager, he worked at the clambake and other odd jobs to make a buck for gas money and take a date to the drive-in.   

Before many health issues over the years, David enjoyed going to NASCAR races with his dad, working with his hands building things and putting things together which he learned from his mother.  He cherished the memories with his three sons and buddies from Spencer Press where he worked for 26 years.  They included hunting, fishing, horseshoes, corn hole, darts and all “Boston” sports and many Budweiser shenanigans.  He was the happiest when all the kids were under the same roof.  As the kids grew up, he enjoyed passing his knowledge of his passions.  He was most proud when they started having children of their own and watching them teach his grandkids the same interests. 

David is predeceased by his parents, Jeremiah and Jean (Burnham) Twomey, his in-laws, George and Barbara Hannaford, and nephew, Austin Ham.  He is survived by his devoted wife Vicki (Ham) of 21 years, his sons, Joshua Twomey (Christel) of Shapleigh, ME, Justin Twomey (Elisha) of Wolfeboro, NH, Zachary Knapp (Amanda) of Biddeford ME, grandchildren, Jacob, Aubree, Tyler, Kylie, Z’mya, Griffin and Ethan, sisters and brothers-in-law, Lisa Morin (Dan), Trudy Dixon (Lenny), Troy Hannaford (Erica) and Jason Ham and father and mother-in-law, Gary and Nancy Ham, nieces Jenna, Jocelyn, Jaelyn and Alanah, best friends Richard Anderson, Bruce Meyer and his wife Nancy and Mary Wynne and Dan Lunnie.  A very special thank you to Joan Twomey, Kathy Sabrina, Stephan and Sean for loving David as if he was their own blood.   David always appreciated maintaining a friendship with Peggy Twomey, Mark Brochu, Wendy Warren, Rhonda Davis and Debbie Dixon and caring about him as if he was still their family.  David will be sadly missed also by his beloved pets, Molly, Tucker, Dudley, Bugsy and Stella.
