Craig H. Young

 We are sad to announce the passing of Craig H Young, born in Rockland and most recently of Dover NH.  Craig passed away on Friday May 12th at the age of 78.  Craig was a Man of God and shared his faith and the good news with many people. He was a veteran and served in the United States Army from 1962-1965 and served as a medic stationed in Germany.  He pastored his own church in Oklahoma and when he moved back to Maine he partnered with many churches and continued in his calling. Later on his life he enjoyed pastoring with his son Ice at Common Ground church and adopted family Jeremy and Jodie Oakes.  He also loved volunteering and teaching kindergarten children through the grandparents program.

Craig was an avid reader and writer.  He loved listening to jazz, enjoyed science fiction, discussing religion of all faiths and also held a black belt in Martial Arts.  He spent hours with his son Ice who was his martial artist instructor and when they weren't training they were exploring book stores, libraries or blockbuster video! They also spent endless hours exchanging dad jokes! Craig always had a book in his hands or a notebook and pen in his pocket. Craig also loved motorcycles and became an honorary member of HCMMC.

His wife Pauline was his best friend. They were married for 55 years. They loved spending time together, whether going for walks or shopping or enjoying a good meal together, they just loved being with each other. Together they raised 3 children. Katrina Marie, Ice Scott (who he was extremely close with) and Victor Baughman. He is survived by his wife and love of his life Pauline, Katrina and her husband Jim, Ice and his fiancé Julie, and Vic and his husband Ross; brother Eric and his wife Trish, his grandchildren Paris, Misty, Jayme, Sophie and Ellie and Billy as well as 2 great grandchildren, Ava and Aaliyah.

His favorite verse was Romans 8:28 “And we know that all things work together for good to them that loved God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.”

Services will be on Wednesday May 17th at Johnsons Funeral Home at 26 Market St in North Berwick Maine.  Visiting hours 3pm-430pm, service from 430-5pm.
