Christine Ann (Piet) Thyng, 58, passed away peacefully February 13, 2025 in Wentworth Douglas Hospital with her family by her side.
She was born in Berlin, NH, March 18, 1966, the daughter of Gilles and Constance (Lapierre) Piet. The family moved to Sanford in 1974 then to North Berwick in 1977 where she attended Noble High School, graduating in 1985. She then earned her Bachelor’s degree in nursing from St. Joseph’s College in Standish.
Chris worked as an RN at Maine Medical Center, as well as in the outpatient setting. In recent years, she was a school nurse in the MSAD 60 School District. She had a compassion for helping people which made her outstanding at her career and well loved by the patients and students.
Chris met her husband in high school while working for her family’s restaurant, “The Ole Corner Restaurant” in North Berwick. She and Steven celebrated 35 years of marriage.
Chris enjoyed long walks with her husband and dogs, puttering in her gardens and a good dessert. Her biggest joy was spending time with her loving family and her dogs and was thrilled when her grandson was born with red hair!
She was predeceased by her parents; sister, Celina (Piet) Thomas and sister-in-law, Linda Piet. She will be forever loved by her husband, Steven Thyng; daughter, Jade (Tyler) O’Donovan; son, Benjamin Thyng; brother Marcel Piet; sister Celest (Jim) Girard; her beloved grandson Henry O’Donovan as well as many nieces and nephews.
