Gene passed away on Sunday May 23rd due to complications with cancer, which he'd been fighting for over three years.
He was born in Sarasota Florida but grew up on the Island of Oahu Hawaii. He had many great stories of growing up there. All his friends and the way of life and adventures. Even working picking pineapples. His family moved to New Hampshire and that's where he spent his last 40 years.
Gene has two daughters Brittany J Smith and Jessie M Smith. His parents Carroll & Lorna Smith of Florida and a brother Chris and sister Cherri Ann.
Gene worked at Prime Tanning for 15 years, Cyro in Sanford, Maine and then at Tyco in Newington, N.H.
He had many hobbies, one being in a Pigeon Flying Club with his second wife Donna. They enjoyed much success and fun with that. But what he was most passionate about was motor sports. He did motocross for a little while before getting hurt and then switched to 4 wheelers. He got into racing modified Quads at Sugar Hill Speedway, outside of Concord. He enjoyed many years of racing and won a few titles before the track changed to Sprint Car racing. He was always tinkering on his bikes, always up for trail riding and mudding any time. When not doing those things, he was riding his Harley wherever the road may lead.
There will be no services at this time
Though Gene never made it back to Oahu, but I believe he is there now, smelling the beautiful air, riding in wind, with a smile on his face. Aloha!
