Carol Ann (Royal) Junkins

Carol A. Junkins, 82, lifelong resident of North Berwick passed away December 13, 2021 in Wentworth Douglas Hospital after a brief illness.

She was born June 29, 1939 in Alfred, daughter of Wallace and Ruth (Smith) Royal and a graduate of North Berwick High School. Over the years, she worked for South Berwick Shoe and retired from Pratt & Whitney as an Inspector.

 In 1958, she married Roger Junkins, together raising their 3 children in North Berwick.  Carol adored her close-knit family.  She babysat all of them numerous hours over the years making their relationship with “Ma” even that much closer.  She followed all of their events and had fond memories of camping and their Disney trip.  Carol was full of spunk and enjoyed her time with the Red Hat Society, going to plays and monthly dinners with her friends from Bethel Christian Church, where she loved singing in the choir.  She and Roger went on many treasure hunts at the Antique stores.

Carol enjoyed working with her hands in the gardens, quilting and crafting.  She especially enjoyed the company of her two special dogs, Honey and Abby and her two grand-dogs, Roni and Panda.

She was predeceased by her husband, Roger  and granddaughter, Stephanie Collins.  Surviving are her son, Robert Junkins and wife Sherry of PA, 2 daughters, Sandra Clement and husband Dwayne of North Berwick and Deborah Rice of Berwick; brother Donald Royal and wife Sonja of North Berwick; 3 grandchildren, Jamie Sok and companion Nick Kimball who have cared for her for the past year at her home, Justin Clement of Berwick, Eric Duchesneau and wfie Lindsay of Sanford; and 5 great-grandchildren, Leiah, Kylie, Ella, Gavyn and Garrett.

A memorial will be held Wednesday August 3  at 11am at the Bethel Christian Church, 129 Lower Main Street, north Berwick, Me.
