Carl L Dunbar passed away peacefully on December 26, 2025. Carl was born in Ameagle, West Virginia on June 29, 1938. Carl was a devoted family man who is survived by his three children, William Dunbar, John Dunbar and Anne Smith (husband Shawn) as well as his two granddaughters Isabella Smith and Elisa Vallee (husband Evan). In his spare time he enjoyed fishing and hunting. Carl was a dedicated Christian and he spread the word of the Lord as a proud Gideon for many years. Carl served for 22 years in the Coast Guard as an Aviation Maintenance Technician Chief. After finishing his career as a Chief Petty Officer in the Coast Guard, Carl worked as a car mechanic. In 1987 Carl started his water filtration business. After many years of business, he retired, however his passion for water filtration was so strong he came out of retirement in 2014 and started his new company Carl’s Water Systems, continuing to serve the community through water filtration.
A time of visitation will be held Monday, January 5, 2026 from 5pm to 7pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, North Berwick, ME.
Burial in the spring in Evergreen Cemetery, Berwick, ME
