Brenda E. (Fiel) Wyman, 88, lifelong resident of North Berwick, passed away peacefully at her home October 27, 2021.
She was born in North Berwick on August 24, 1933, daughter of Fred and Irene (Shaw) Fiel.
Brenda was a 1951 graduate of North Berwick High School. She worked part time in her dad’s store, Fiel’s Market which became Elm Street Market and now Allard’s Market. After the store was sold in 1977, she went to work for North Berwick Nursing Home and Varney Crossing Nursing home until her retirement in 2014 at age 81.
Brenda was active in planning two town celebrations, including the Bicentennial Celebration. When her boys were young, she enjoyed her time as a Den mother for the Cub Scouts and was a member of the Camera Club. She also loved to teach crafts in the early days of Camp Waban Summer Camp. Brenda attended numerous weddings and celebrations where she would assist her husband in documenting events on film for generations to enjoy. Brenda and her husband enjoyed traveling, especially their trip to Hawaii and were long time parishioners of Bethel Christian Church
She was pre-deceased by her parents, sisters, Virginia Gray, Shirley Levasseur, Anna Matthews and brother Walter Fiel. Surviving are her husband William H. Wyman with whom she recently celebrated 70 years of marriage; two sons, William L. Wyman and his wife Cindy; Joseph Wyman and his wife Donna, all of North Berwick; 3 grandchildren, Allison Taber and husband Matt of Harrison, ME; Aubrey Allen and husband Dave of Bradenton, FL; Joshua Wyman and wife Jacqueline of Georgia; 4 great grandchildren, Abbigale, Brooke, Hayden and Gavin; sister, Priscilla Thyng of North Berwick; brothers and sisters-in-law, Mary Wyman, Carol Kezar and husband Skip, Kenneth Wyman and Sherry Johnson as well as numerous nieces and nephews and cousins.
The family wishes to thank the staff at Wentworth Hospice for their amazing and compassionate care.
Visiting hours will be held Monday, November 1st from 5pm to 7pm at the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick. Funeral services will be held Tuesday, November 2 at 10am at Bethel Christian Church, 129 Lower Main Street North Berwick, ME. Interment will be in Hillside Cemetery North Berwick.
