Bessie Elizabeth Cofferen Obituary

Bessie “ Liz” Elizabeth Cofferen passed away peacefully at home September 14, 2019 after a long battle with cancer. She was born March 29, 1942 in Marietta, Georgia.

Bessie was a retired CNA. She worked at Varney Crossing and Newton Center. She was also a crossing guard for North Berwick for 30 plus years.

She was preceded by her son Gary M. Cofferen, ME; daughter Katherine Hatcher, NH. And brother Robert Rae, GA.

Surviving are her husband of 55 years Ray M. Cofferen and son William Hatcher of FL; 2 daughters Terry Churchill and Belinda Cofferen of Sanford. She has 8 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

2 brothers John and Charles Rae; 2 sisters Mary Yarbar and Carolyn Hutchins of GA.

At her request, there will be no service. Interment will be in the Southern Maine Veterans Cemetery in Springvale, Maine
