Audrey Drake, beloved mother, grandmother, great grandmother, and friend, passed away peacefully with family on December 9th, 2021, at 91 at her home in North Berwick.

 She was born May 1930 in Spring Valley, NY, to Frank and Gladys (Wanamaker) Snyder. April 9th, 1950, she married her sweetheart Allen Drake in Suffern, NY. She was a “Kool-Aid Mom” for many years to her 5 children, nieces and nephews, and the entire neighborhood until she and Allen moved to Inlet, NY, in 1972 to open Drake’s Inn Restaurant. They ran a tremendous family-run business, and in 1985, they passed the torch on to their son Mike and his wife, Paula. They spent winters in Florida until 2000, when they moved permanently to Daytona Beach. Allen passed away in 2007.

  Audrey is survived by 2 daughters, Susan (Bob) Waltersdorf of North Berwick ME and Penny (Shane)Beach of Eagle Bay NY, a son Allen Ray Jr” Beaner” (Margot) Drake of Wilton NH,2 daughters-in-law Ellen Drake and H Paula Jones-Drake. In addition, she leaves 8 grandchildren, Kevin and Kurt Waltersdorf, Samantha (Dan) Krantz, and Steven (Allison) Drake, Michael. II(Amanda) and Matthew (Liz) Drake, Allison Drake, and Sidney Payne III. She also leaves 8 great-grandchildren, several nieces, nephews, and special friends Irene, Heidi, Mariam, and Diane. She was predeceased by, besides her husband and parents, 3 sisters Virginia, Edna, and Beverly, 2 sons, Steven” Gus” and Michael Drake, and beloved granddaughter Kelly Waltersdorf Klyn.

  Audrey’s faith was deep, and she is sure with all of her passed loved ones again. We will all surely miss this beautiful, wonderful Lad.
