Arthur (Buddy) J. Burke, Jr.

Arthur J. (Buddy) Burke, Jr., 80, of Simpsonville, SC, formerly of North Berwick, ME, died December 27, 2019 at the Greenville Memorial Hospital in South Carolina after a brief illness.

He was born May 2, 1939 in Berwick, ME, the son of Arthur J.  and Virginia Burke.  He graduated from Berwick High School in 1957.  He worked in several area garages, Converse Rubber, Coke-a-Cola and K’Mart.

In 1980, he married Jennifer Yeaton.  While living in North Berwick, he was a member of the William Hill Fire Department and was Assistant Chief.  He was also a Mason and a Shriner for over 50 years.  Buddy moved to Ocala, FL in 1989 and then to Simpsonville, SC in 2009.

He is survived by his wife of 30 years, Jennifer (Yeaton) Burke, sister, Lillian Burke of Sanford; 5 daughters, Tammy Moore of Somersworth, NH, Lori Gibson and husband Rick of North Berwick, ME, Robyn Fondry and husband John of  Easley, SC, Pamela Ambuhl and husband Mark of Simpsonville, SC and  Caren Brophy and husband Sam of Biddeford, ME; 14 grandchildren, several great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and cousins.

Arthur was laid to rest in the Hillside Cemetery in North Berwick, ME.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Johnson Funeral Home, North Berwick, ME where condolences may be expressed at www.JohnsonFuneralHomeME.com
