Annie C. Panter (ANN-E-P) (Annie P.) October 29, 1931 – April 28, 2025 93 years old, passed away at Wentworth-Douglas Hospital in Dover, NH peacefully after being cared for at Pinnacle in North Berwick, Maine for one and a half years.
Family includes a son Stephen W. Panter of South Berwick, Maine and significant other Sharon Chambers. Sisters-in-law Sally J. Sullivan and Helen E. Sullivan both of Eliot, Maine.
Nieces include Stephanie Hill from Winthrop, NY, Sueanne Sullivan from Sanford, Maine, Sharon Tanguay from Westbrook, Maine and Stacy Sullivan from Eliot, Maine.
Nephews include Robert Sullivan and Thomas Sullivan both from Eliot, Maine.
Annie was predeceased by her husband William J. Panter, Jr., by her brothers Stephen Sullivan and John Sullivan, and niece Cynthia “Cyndi” Sullivan.
Special friends include Linda Eastman, Donna Wiggin, Denise Place, Michelle Coughlin, and Jeannie Bond and Elfi Maurer-Tillhof.
Annie worked until the age of 75 before retiring. She worked for Dr. Bernard and Ellen Manning in Dover, NH; serving as house keeper and childcare provider for many years. She then went on to do the same for the family of Douglas and Helen Rollins of Rollinsford, NH.
Annie’s last job was working for Dr. Geoffrey E. Clark and wife Martha Fuller Clark of Portsmouth, NH. Helping with house chores and childcare; helping raise three children, Caleb, Nathaniel, and Anna. She was always treated as a family member, often going on family trips and outings.
Annie enjoyed camping in her earlier years in Northern Maine on Caucomgomoc Lake and Moosehead Lake. She also went on many bus trips with Maine Line Tours.
Annie went on other trips as well. Hawaii, China, Austria and California to name a few.
She always enjoyed cooking, her flower gardens, bowling, and playing Scrabble at the Dover Senior Center.
Annie was born in Portsmouth NH, grew up in Eliot, Maine and was a lifelong resident of South Berwick, Maine.
Annie enjoyed trips to Foxwoods Casino in CT. Many memories were made going on the Mount Washington and Mailboat on Lake Winnipesaukee, she was also a part of the William Fogg Library in Eliot, checking out a full bag of books every week.
Annie will be deeply missed by all she loved and who loved her.
Annie always had a cat which gave her much pleasure and companionship, her latest being a big black cat named Zuki.
At Annie’s request there will be no services.
