Ann-Marie (Erickson) Johnson, 96, of North Berwick passed away peacefully on April 19th in Pinnacle Rehab Health Care of North Berwick. She leaves her son Bradley Johnson and his wife June Johnson of North Berwick. 2 granddaughters, Jennifer Worthing and her husband Darrell Worthing of Rochester, NH and Suzanne Costain and her husband Steven Costain of Browns Mills, NJ and several greatgrandchildren. She was predeceased in death by her husband Robert L. Johnson, a brother Carl Birger Erickson, sister Martha Adams and an infant brother Nils Erickson.
Ann-Marie was born in Auburn, MA in her childhood home to the late Carl Ernest Erickson and Freida M. (Kallman) Erickson. Ann-Marie graduated from Auburn High School with honors and studied Music playing piano starting at age 7. She played for various events and gatherings, attending many Swedish Folk Dances.
Throughout her life she was very involved with UASA Order of America and was proud of her Swedish heritage. An-Marie had worked at Mechanics Savings Bank in Worcester, MA and Lodding Engineering in Auburn, MA for many years.
Ann-Marie loved Maine and had spent many weekends and vacations at the York Cottage gathering with family and friends for many enjoyable years. In 1978 the family acquired the Perkins Cove Inn in Ogunquit and became Innkeepers. Their love of the area and friendly locals made them feel right at home. Many friends were made with guests and towns people alike which lasted a lifetime. Many walks over the footbridge into Perkins Cove with her 2 young granddaughters for hot fudge sundaes was always allowed especially when Grammy was told “mom always lets us have sundaes before noontime”.
Ann-Marie was a lifelong member of Ogunquit Baptist Church and the organist for many years. Her devotion to God and the church fulfilled her. We were blessed by her love and kindness and she will be forever remembered in our hearts.
A celebration of life will be held at Ogunquit Baptist Church on Saturday May 3, 2025 from 1-4pm. Stop by for coffee and pastries in remembrance of Ann-Marie.
We would like to thank Pinnacle Rehab Health Care of North Berwick and Hospice for all of their care and compassion.
