Bob (Alfred) Lambert, 85, of Berwick, ME, passed away at his home with his sons by his side on February 28, 2026.
Bob was born on December 12, 1940, in Somersworth, NH to Alfred and Rose (Doyon) Lambert, one of ten children.
He enlisted in the Army at the age of 17 after tricking his father into signing his enlistment papers. Over the next three years he would become a parachutist within the 82nd Airborne making hundreds of jumps over that time. Upon his honorable discharge he would find his draft papers waiting for him on his kitchen table at home. When he went to the nearest Army office no one believed he already served 3 years because he looked so young.
He worked the next 18.5 years in local factories and doing residential construction. In 1979 he went to work at Portsmouth Naval Shipyard, finally retiring in 2003. In retirement he worked for a number of years at the Berwick Transfer Station.
For the next 23 years he enjoyed retirement in the home he built in Berwick, Maine.
An avid outdoorsmen, he fished and hunted throughout most areas of Maine and New Hampshire. He enjoyed whitetail deer hunting above any other outdoor activity he pursued.
Bob is predeceased by his wife Madeline, parents Alfred and Rose, 2 brothers Leo and Roger and 5 sisters Jeanine, Marcelle, Mona, Jackie and Estelle. He is survived by his sons Bruce (wife Jean), Brandt (wife Sheila) and Beau (wife Megan), two of his siblings, Collette and Solange, as well as 6 grandchildren, 2 great grandchildren and many nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
A graveside service is planned for spring 2026.
