Vivian Sweet Obituary

Vivian A. Sweet, 94, of Grace Lane, passed away peacefully at home May 23, 2018 after living for years with Parkinson’s and Diabetes.

She was born April 18, 1924 in Wakefield, MA, daughter of Sidney and Beatrice (Allison) Adams.  She was raised in Wakefield, MA and worked for Boston Safe Deposit and Trust Co.

In 1950 she married George E. Sweet and had 3 daughters, losing the second daughter at 16 in a tragic car accident.  Together they ran Sweet Pet Supply in Kennebunk.  They loved square dancing and camping.  As members of the Chickadee Camping club, they traveled all over New England. She attended the North Parish Congregational Church in Sanford and was a wonderful wife, mother, homemaker and cook. 

She was pre-deceased by  her daughter, Elaine Sweet in 1971 and husband George Sweet in 2013.  Surviving are two daughters, Marcia Sweet Colby and husband Jay of Sanford, their two children and two grandchildren; and Brenda Sweet Bryant and her husband Gary of Kennebunk.

A graveside service will be held Thursday, May 31 at 11:30 in the Knollwood Memorial Park,  321 High Street, Canton, Massachusetts.  Memorial donations may be made to Parkinson’s Foundation, 1359 Broadway, Suite 1509, New York, NY 10018  or  North Parish Congregational Church, 893 Main St. Sanford Maine 04073
