Richard Pierce Obituary

Richard J. (Tutter)  Pierce, 82, of Middle Road passed away peacefully January 1, 2019 in the Androscoggin Hospice Home in Auburn, ME.

He was born August 9, 1936 in Kennebunk, ME, one of 7 sons born to William Leo and Dorothy A. (Hayes) Pierce and attended Kennebunk Schools.

Richard was well-known around Kennebunk and the surrounding areas for his Antiquing; scouting local flea markets, thrift stores and yard sales for his latest find.  In his younger years he enjoyed hunting with his brothers; in later years he loved to fish the local streams and putter in his garden.  Richard was a die-hard Yankees fan as well, listening to all the games on his radio. 

He was pre-deceased by his brothers, Lawrence Pierce,  Warren Pierce, William Leo (Timer) Pierce, Jr. and Robert A. Pierce, Sr.  Surviving are his son, Richard W. Pierce and  wife Tori of Buxton; 3 daughters, Julie Wilmore and husband Jim of Fayetteville, NC, Louise Lefebvre and husband George of Nashua, NH, Pauline Lones and husband Tom of Brookline, NH; 13 grandchildren, 8 great grandchildren; 2 brothers, Jack Pierce and Peter Pierce and wife Laurie of West Kennebunk as well as numerous nieces and nephews. 

A memorial service will be held at 1PM on Saturday, January 12, 2019 at the Christ Church, 6 Dane Street, Kennebunk, ME 04043.  Contributions in Richard’s memory may be made to the church.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME.  Condolences may be expressed at www.JohnsonFuneralHomeME.com
