Marion C. (Lundgren) Kelly

Marion C. Kelly, 96, resident of the Newton Center, passed away November 7, 2018.

She was born April 5, 1922 in Woodland, ME; graduating Caribou High School before entering  University of Maine Orono, where she graduated with a degree in Mathematics, specializing in statistics and probabilities.  In 1942, she married Donald Kelly then relocating to NYC working as an actuary for New York Life.  The family made several moves, including Delaware, Ohio, NYC, New Jersey and Newton, New Hampshire, where Marion was the Town Treasurer and Clerk to the Selectman.   

Marion loved knitting and crocheting and all kinds of handywork. She went to work for a yarn shop and from there, became an editor of Old Time Crochet Magazine.  In 1991, she moved to North Berwick, ME to be closer to her family and became a member of the Wells Branch Baptist Church.

Graveside services will be held on Friday, November 16 at 2PM in the Highland Cemetery, 35 Highland Street, Newton, NH  03858.  Friends who wish may contribute to their charity of choice.  Arrangements are entrusted to the Johnson Funeral Home, 26 Market Street, North Berwick, ME 03906  Condolences may be expressed at www.JohnsonFuneralHomeME.com
