Marcella (Marcy) L Mayo, 46, of Wells died April 10, 2016 after a courageous yearlong battle against Mesothelioma. Throughout her sickness, she continued to put others first, kept a smile on her face and her positive outlook on life.

She was born April 22, 1969 and graduated Wells High School in 1987. In 1989 she married the boy next door; her best friend, Bruce Mayo. Together they raised two wonderful children and are expecting their first grandchild.

Marcy enjoyed cooking, even if she could barely boil water at first. Over the years, however, she became known around the community for her culinary prowess. Aside from cooking, she was a simple woman who loved sports, camping, a nice glass of wine, (or three) and spending time with family, and the friends who became family. She enjoyed the fun-filled weekend get-aways with the girls.

Marcy is survived by her loving husband of 26 years, Bruce, her son Joshua, daughter Nicole and her husband Tyler McDermott, mother Micheline Coulson, brother Steve Stone and his wife Becky, 4 step-siblings David, Glenn, and Wayne Coulson, and Alta McCarthy as well as many nieces and nephews that she loved as if they were her own.

She was predeceased by her father Edward Durham, grandparents Roy and Louise Stevens, stepfather Ernest Coulson, siblings Angie Stone McCarthy, Edward Durham Jr., and her twin sister Shannon Durham. She cherished and missed every one of them each and every day.

A Celebration of Marcy's Life will be held on Saturday April 16th, from 12-3pm at The Coastal House, 2128 Post Rd. (Route 1) Wells, Maine 04090. Memorial donations may be made to:
