Doris “Pat” Seavey, 83 of North Berwick, passed away peacefully  October 29, 2018 in York Hospital, surrounded by her family.

Pat was born January 12, 1935 in Banbury Oxfordshire England, daughter of Gerald and Sarah Ward.

In 1981, Pat moved to the United States living in Florida, Indiana then settling in Maine.  She retired after many years from La Lumiere Prep School in Indiana where she honed her amazing cooking skills. She worked part time in the cafeteria of Noble Junior High School in Berwick, ME. She had a great passion for cooking for all of her family, friends and neighbors; always bringing a tasty dish to Sunday Morning brunch with her circle of friends.    Pat loved tending to her flower and vegetable gardens  and could be found in her swing  or under the willow tree.

Pat’s greatest pleasure was  spending time at the farmer’s market, going to brunch and trips to the beach with her daughter Amanda and granddaughters, Kristin and Katie Dyer; whom she adored.   Pat loved the animals; volunteering for Another Chance Animal Rescue in North Berwick and walking the animals every single day at her friend Julie’s farm. Pat and her little dog, Gracie, were always helping out at  Another Chance Thrift Store in town as well.  Her love and compassion for the animals was immeasurable.

She was pre-deceased by her husband, Merton Seavey, her son Steven Dyer, brother, Ian Ward and sister, Lilly Ward.  Pat’s wit and vigor will be sorely missed by her daughter Amanda Dyer of York, ME, daughter Lynne Downes and husband Terry of High Wycombe England; 2 sons, Paul Dyer and his life partner Donna Saucier of Berwick, ME, Philip Dyer and wife Dawn of Bicester England, daughter-in-law Carol Dyer of Rochester, NH; 2 sisters, Sally Harter and husband Robert of Vermont and Geraldine Mullard of Banbury England; 11 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren and her numerous friends.
