North Berwick—Michael “Mike” Edward Lanouette, 75, passed away peacefully on March 27, 2024, at home with his family by his side. He was born in Dover NH, on May 9, 1948, to John Baptist Lanouette and Anita Louise Bennett Lanouette of South Berwick.
He graduated from South Berwick High School in 1966. Soon after graduation, Mike started as an apprentice working at the Portsmouth Navy Yard, Shop 38 for 10 years. In 1977, he started working at Bruno & Stillmen building lobster boats. In 1979, Mike began working at Pratt & Whitney as a Mechanical Engineer and retired in 1999.
In addition to his work, Michael was an avid ATV rider and started the Square Pond ATV Club in Shapleigh ME. He joined the Southern Maine ATV Club and was Treasurer for 6 years. Mike was a member of the American Legion, North & South Berwick Rod & Gun Clubs, and a volunteer of the South Berwick Fire Department for 18 years.
Mike loved the outdoors and could always be found in the fall either deer hunting or lucky enough to get a moose permit. He shared this love with his wife and his father-in-law Dwight. He adored his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Mike is survived by his wife of 39 years, Sue Crow Lanouette; daughter, Meredith Anne (Lanouette) Marston (Jon) of Clermont, FL, three granddaughters, Ashleigh Anne Brooks Lambert (Adam) of Sanford, Makayla Avery Marston of Clermont, FL, and Jaime Lahue of Sanford; one grandson Dylon Lahue of Berwick: six great-grandchildren Skyler, Scarlette, Michael, Erin, Riley, and Lucas: four siblings, William “Billy” Lanouette of Rochester NH, Denise Lanouette Brooks of Berwick ME, Maureen Lanouette Finger (Mitchell) of Seneca Falls NY, and Patricia Lanouette Boston (Randy) of North Berwick; many nieces, nephews and cousins.
Mike was predeceased by his parents, John Baptist Lanouette and Anita Louise Bennett Lanouette, and one daughter Kelly Jean Lanouette Lahue.

A time of visitation will be held Friday April 5 from 3pm to 5pm at the Johnson Funeral Home 25, Market Street, North Berwick followed by a time of refreshments and fellowship at the North Berwick Community Center from 5pm to 7pm.
